Fabrication

There are a total of 11 manufacturing processes (5 in fabrication shop and 6 in profile shop), which are executed at Rhino’s Manufacturing Facility at Sufiabad Industrial Estate, 18km Ferozepur Road, Lahore. The manufacturing processes, which are executed in the fabrication shop, include:

  1. Cutting
  2. Fitups
  3. Welding
  4. Cleaning
  5. Painting

Each of the 5 processes is executed in different ways (depending upon the nature of the job and customer needs). Besides, the manufacturing facility also has the storage capability for both raw and finished material

Cutting

The first of the 5 manufacturing processes is cutting. Rhino has divided the cutting process into 4 different sections:

  1. CNC Flame Cutting
  2. Shearing
  3. Plasma Torch Cutting
  4. Drilling/Punching

Fit ups

The second of the 5 manufacturing processes is fit-ups. Rhino has divided the fit-up process into 3 different sections:

  1. Flange Fit-up
  2. I-Beam Fit-up
  3. Clips and Plates Fit-up

Welding

After completion of the fit-up process, the pieces move forward to the welding process. Rhino has divided the welding process into 3 different sections (depending upon job requirement):

  1. Electric Arc Welding
  2. MIG CO₂Welding
  3. SAW

Cleaning

The 4thprocess in the manufacturing of primary members is cleaning. Rhino applies 3 different forms of cleaning procedures, depending upon the customer needs, work load and project costing. These 3 forms are:

  1. Shot Blasting
  2. Sand Blasting
  3. Power Brushes

Paint

The final manufacturing process (for the fabrication of primary members) is painting of the primary members. Once the MS Pieces have been approved by Quality Control department, they are processed for painting. The MS Pieces are covered with a layer of Red Oxide Enamel (35m – 50m thick) or Grey Epoxy (75m – 125m thick), depending upon customer need. Final coat (if in the scope of Rhino) is applied once the MS Pieces have been erected at Site. This eliminates the chances of rework, which may exist if the MS Pieces are painted at Rhino’s Manufacturing Facility and then shipped to the Customer’s Site.
